How red-blue glasses training works
The two lenses of anaglyph glasses differ in colour: the red one passes mainly red light, the other (blue or cyan) passes mainly its own colour.
The screen draws different content in those two colours, so with the glasses on each eye sees only its own part of the picture -- that is dichoptic viewing.
The split lets the training call on a specific eye: the key target goes to one eye only, supporting information to the other, and neither can sit out -- only together do the two views make the whole picture.
Compared with traditional patching, split-view training keeps both eyes working at the same time and emphasises cooperation, rather than covering one eye entirely. Each approach has its place -- which one fits is a question for the doctor.
Red-blue training glasses are easy to buy online and inexpensive; the red lens can sit on either side, and the software has a setting for it.
